We would like to introduce you to the newest member of the CentrEd team, Arum Javed. Arum joined us last month and takes on the role of Sales Executive.
We found time in between Arum’s busy induction period, to get to know him a little better. Here’s what he had to say…
Not to sound too much like a formal interview, tell us a little bit about yourself:
I hail from Birmingham and have spent the last 10 years working for The NEC Group. During my time there, I worked across eight different departments, including concerts, exhibitions and regional events. I’m really passionate about events and have worked on everything from The RHS Chelsea Flower Show to Disney on Ice.
Tell us about your role at CentrEd:
In my role at CentrEd, I’m responsible for attracting new business to the venue, from the corporate and agency market, as well as managing relationships with existing clients. I’m also planning on attending lots of networking events to promote the CentrEd brand and get myself known for my new role!
What inspired you to work in events?
I was first inspired to work in events when I worked on the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. My role was to help the organisers with their VIPs. I loved the buzz around organising the space and seeing the event come to fruition. I then worked on a project in Stratford upon Avon where a new venue was launched. Since then I have worked on everything from weddings, to corporate events. I love the atmosphere of organising events and making someone really happy with the final product.
What do you like most about your new role?
A fresh new venue with hi-tech tech and a view to match! Plus working with people who are experts in the industry.
Your top tip for hosting an event at CentrEd:
Let a client know what we excel at, what we can do differently and how we can help, to ensure they make the most of hosting their event with us. Never be scared to take the risk!
Tell us something interesting about yourself!
I once saved a guy’s life, pulling him to safety following a car accident.
