We’d like to introduce you to Mimi Newton, our CentrEd Customer Service Manager.
We took time out to chat to Mimi about her time at ExCeL and CentrEd.
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I began my role at ExCeL just over 12 years ago. I started off as part of the customer service team in the main venue and have since worked my way around the business! I have been in my current role at CentrEd since January 2016 when we first opened, and I really enjoy it.
Tell us about your role at CentrEd:
My role is to manage the operations and general running of CentrEd. I am the main point of contact for the clients on the day of their event, which mean lots of running around and keeping things ticking over. I work very closely with a number of teams at ExCeL, to ensure the events run smoothly and we deliver the best possible experience for our clients and their delegates.
What inspired you to work in events?
I used to run a nightclub before I worked for ExCeL, which gave me my first step into events. Planning and organising events was always something that interested me, so I decided to leave the nightlife behind and work for ExCeL. Combining my passion for events and delivering exceptional customer service made this my perfect role.
What do you like most about your role?
Every event in CentrEd is so different. It’s very important to me that I build a good relationship with all of our clients from the outset. Nothing makes me happier than receiving positive feedback. If our clients are happy, then I’m happy!
Tell us something interesting about yourself!
I am qualified in massage and aromatherapy, but decided that I preferred the event life. People are often surprised to find that I used to run a nightclub!
